Founder of Binance

Zhao Changpeng

Changpeng Zhao founded Binance in 2017, and it is now the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange. The exchange has adopted an aggressive growth strategy, rapidly expanding globally, and Binance does not have a global headquarters. Changpeng Zhao has often refused to do so before, saying he wanted the platform to run on a "decentralized" operating model.

On November 22, the Binance exchange led by Changpeng Zhao reached a $4.3 billion settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, and Changpeng Zhao resigned as Binance CEO. At the same time, Richard Teng, Binance’s former global head of regional markets, has been appointed as the new CEO.

Changpeng Zhao himself posted on social media However, Changpeng Zhao also stated that relevant US departments did not accuse Binance of misappropriating user funds or manipulating the market.

He Yi

He Yi is responsible for operations and strategy at Binance. The business strategy created by He Yili's team has transformed Binance from an ordinary trading platform into a global blockchain ecosystem. From 2014 to 2015, He Yi was also a founding team member of OKCoin. He Yi was responsible for half of Binance’s success. He Yiyi’s experience in operating Yibo and OKCoin seamlessly connect to Binance.

He Yi has made the leap from an ordinary working-class person to a well-known entrepreneur in the industry. What should ordinary people do? If you are still confused, reading a lot can help you. Being young means you have many opportunities for trial and error, so try more while you are young. When an opportunity comes, seize it and don't worry too much about income. Many people may say that I understand all these principles. Yes, everyone understands the truth, but how many of them can actually stick to it? The successful cases are here, it depends on how you understand it.

Resign as CEO

On November 22, Zhao resigned as CEO of Binance. The following is part of his resignation letter:

Today, I resigned as CEO of Binance. Admittedly, letting go emotionally is not easy. But I know I did the right thing. I made a mistake and I must take responsibility. This is what’s best for our community, Binance, and myself.

Binance is no longer a baby. Now it’s time for me to let it walk and run. I know Binance will continue to grow and stand out with its strong backing.
I’m excited to announce that our current former Global Head of Regional Markets, @_RichardTeng, has been appointed as Binance’s new CEO today. Richard is a highly qualified leader with over thirty years of financial services and regulatory experience who will lead the company through its next period of growth. He will ensure Binance achieves its next phase of security, transparency, compliance and growth.
Prior to joining Binance, Richard served as CEO of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM); Chief Regulatory Officer of Singapore Exchange (SGX); and Corporate Finance Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Together with Richard and the entire team, I believe the best days are ahead for Binance and the crypto industry.
As a shareholder and former CEO with knowledge of our company's history, I will be available to provide the team with necessary consultation within the framework set forth in our U.S. agency resolution.
